Hi, I'm Kirsten!
I'm an ADHD girlie who is passionate about ceramics, birth work, neurodivergence, and reproductive justice.
Playing with clay is my therapy and my happy place.
When I'm not making fun+functional ceramics in my home garage studio, you might find me supporting birthing families as a doula, studying midwifery research as part of my journey to become a home birth midwife, advocating for reproductive justice in Alabama with the nonprofit I cofounded, cuddling my weird kitties, drinking a Nespresso-brewed iced raspberry mocha, or hanging out with my amazing kiddos and supportive hubby.
My studio + process
I love color, functional work, and making things that bring a smile to people's faces. I exclusively handbuild using slabs rolled with my hardworking slab roller.
My home studio is stocked with a Skutt-1022 kiln, a North Star slab roller, and lots of table space because I take up a lot of room when I'm creating! Some of my favorite products to use include Mayco Stroke & Coat, Amaco Velvet underglazes, & Spectrum floating glazes.
I use Dark Star and Ice Man clays from Kentucky Mudworks and fire most things to cone 5.
